About the Program:
Staff will engage children in outdoor play and informal environmental education to raise awareness, foster respect and share enthusiasm for the natural environment. Campers will be grouped by age and paired with a camp counselor to guide them through camp activities and nature education.
During this week, we are happy to announce the following visiting programs will come to camp and teach your child about nature in their own unique ways.
Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency:
Campers will be going through a “Bone Box” presentation that will include pelts and skulls from native Tennessee animals. The display is used to inform youth about the habitat and diet of these individual wild animals. This will help the youth know what wild animals need to survive and how people should or should not interact with wild animals.
Urban Green Lab:
A local nonprofit dedicated to teaching communities to live healthy, sustainable lives. Campers will learn how they can protect important resources like food, water, and energy in their own communities, all while interacting with this exciting Mobile Lab.
